#Data extractor software software
This technology extends the life and value of VistA and CHCS 1 by delivering data to external software applications or databases that help a facility achieve clinical, managerial, operational, or financial objectives. This technology deposits the extracted data ready-for-use in the target database. MDE extracts data from Veterans Health Information Systems and Technology Architecture (VistA) and Composite Health Care System (CHCS) 1 and automatically moves the data across the network to databases supporting the Web, data warehouse/marts, or local applications. The extractions are placed into a Relational Database Management System (RDBMS) for use by technologies such as data warehouse/mart, clinical software applications, data analysis tools, and ad hoc reporting. Data is filtered so only the desired data is extracted. This technology converts File Manager data types to standard SQL data types. M Data Extractor (MDE) performs data migration from File Manager-based M and Cache`s hierarchical format to structured query language (SQL) databases while transforming the hierarchical data relationships within File Manager-based M and Cache to equivalent relationally-based linkages.
